Turkey runs from the smart Aegean coast around Bodrum and the Mediterranean resorts of Antalya to the surreal valleys of Cappadocia and the Bosphorus in Istanbul, so start with the region that fits the day you picture. Late spring and early autumn are the windows; high summer is fierce, especially inland.
These regions barely belong to the same wedding. Bodrum is Turkey's most polished coastal scene, all whitewash and Aegean blue; Antalya leans towards large resorts and warm sea; Cappadocia offers a landscape unlike anywhere, with hot-air balloons at dawn over the valleys; and Istanbul gives you a great city and the Bosphorus. Where you marry sets the suppliers, the journey and the budget far more than the photographs suggest.
Plan around the heat: the coast and Cappadocia are at their best in May, June and September, while July and August can be punishing, particularly inland. One honest note on the law, a civil marriage in Turkey is possible for foreigners but document-heavy, typically requiring translated and notarised papers and a health report, so many couples marry legally at home and hold a symbolic ceremony here. A good local planner is worth their fee in navigating either path.
