The honest cautions are the heat, the harvest and the roads. In July and August the valley becomes a heat trap, often pushing toward 40 degrees, brutal for an exposed midday ceremony. The harvest from late August into October is beautiful but is the busiest working period, when quintas are stretched and rooms scarce. And access is by narrow, switchbacking valley roads, so transfers take longer than a map suggests and bed stock beyond the venues is limited. Getting there
