Eze is one of the most photographed villages in France, a knot of stone lanes and bougainvillea coiled around a rock some four hundred metres above the Mediterranean, between Nice and Monaco. From its terraces the coast falls away in a single uninterrupted sweep, and at sunset the light here is the stuff couples cross continents for. It is small and steep and beautiful, and that shapes everything about a wedding in the village.
The two village venues are jewel boxes. The honest cautions are scale, access and the legal route. The village itself is car free and reached by a climb, so logistics for older guests and for production need real thought, and the village hotels cap at small numbers.
